Stopped here for a bite on our way back south. Chips where perfect. Fish was lovely a nice light and crispy batter. Not greasy and great price. will definitely be coming back here

Excellent place for fish & chips! We love this place as it's our local. Great value for money and the fish is always well battered and cooked and the chips are crunchy and yummy. Really friendly staff with free parking outside and a good choice of other food such as hotdogs and cheeseburgers

The BEST fish and chips! Fresh tasty fish, crispy and delicious! The staff are very friendly. Fantastic Gluten free options which we love! Our favourite for sure.

Absolutely delicious! I can now never have any other meat pattie from anywhere else! Spring roll was also great. The Elephant fish was fresh meaty and delicious. The Makikihi chips were golden crisp and devine. Helpful and friendly staff Tinwald takeawys Boom

I absolutely believe this is the best fish and chip shop in Ashburton/Tinwald Very crispy chips and fish has nice batter. They are a bit pricey compared to others in the same area but hey with prices rising everywhere you need to expect it and I’d rather pay a bit more to be able to enjoy good tasting fish and chips. Love how they do the free goody pack as well.

Best fish burger ever crunchy batter fresh bun perfectly cooked served with a friendly smile and quick service. Our order also included an Hawaiian burger fish and curry rolls all were cooked to perfection. A takeaway I shall certainly revisit when passing thru Tinwald. Good parking for towing vehicles and trucks thanks for the excellent feed.

Normal fish and chips hubby enjoyed!! I had gluten free Blue Cod which I don't think was!! I always buy gf Blue Cod when I have f&c but was disappointed, I am quite an expert!! It wasn't nice white flacky fish!! It was thick and dark!! However I will try again one day!!

The staff were friendly and helpful. I had not been there before so was asking about some of the items for sale. They had sold out of blue cod so got Tarakihi (yum) and elephant fish. Chose gourmet burger patty and battered sausage for the second person. They give a guide on how many chips to order which was useful. They said they are going to open on Mondays soon so check the hours.
